What Our Warranty Covers

Our warranty provides comprehensive protection for the repairs we perform. When you choose Albany Appliance Repair, you’re protected against defective workmanship and parts failures.

Labor Warranty (90 Days)

We guarantee our workmanship for 90 days from the date of service. This means:

  • Same Problem Returns: If the exact same problem we repaired returns within 90 days, we return and fix it at no charge
  • Installation Issues: Problems caused by improper installation of parts are corrected free
  • Diagnostic Errors: If we misdiagnosed the problem, we return to complete the proper repair
  • No Hidden Charges: Warranty service includes labor, trip charge, and any additional diagnosis needed

Parts Warranty (1 Year)

All replacement parts installed by our technicians carry a 1-year warranty. This covers:

  • Manufacturing Defects: Parts that fail due to defects in materials or workmanship
  • Premature Failure: Parts that fail significantly earlier than expected lifespan
  • Free Replacement: Defective parts are replaced at no charge for parts or labor
  • Quality Guarantee: We stand behind the quality of every part we install

Our warranty follows the appliance, not the location. Even if you move, your warranty remains valid.

Manufacturer Extended Warranties

Some parts carry manufacturer warranties that extend beyond our 1-year coverage. Common examples include:

  • Compressors: Often carry 5-10 year manufacturer warranties
  • Motors: May have extended manufacturer coverage
  • Control Boards: Some manufacturers provide 2-3 year warranties

We provide manufacturer warranty information when applicable and assist with manufacturer warranty claims when needed.

What Our Warranty Does NOT Cover

To maintain fairness and sustainability, our warranty does not cover certain situations. Understanding these exclusions helps set proper expectations.

Different Problems

Our warranty covers the specific repair we performed, not new or different problems:

  • Unrelated Failures: New problems with different components
  • Additional Issues: Problems that existed but weren’t repaired during our service
  • Normal Wear: Other parts wearing out over time

Example: If we repaired your dryer’s heating element and the belt breaks 2 months later, the belt is not covered by warranty because it’s a different component. However, if the heating element itself fails again, it IS covered.

Damage & Misuse

  • Physical Damage: Damage from drops, impacts, or abuse
  • Improper Use: Using appliances outside manufacturer specifications
  • Overloading: Exceeding weight or capacity limits
  • Foreign Objects: Damage from coins, bobby pins, or other items
  • Improper Cleaning: Using harsh chemicals or abrasives

External Factors

  • Power Issues: Damage from power surges, voltage problems, or lightning strikes
  • Water Damage: Flooding, leaks from plumbing, or water line failures
  • Fire & Acts of God: Damage from fires, storms, or natural disasters
  • Pests: Damage from rodents, insects, or other pests

Third-Party Service

  • Other Technicians: Repairs performed by other companies after our service
  • DIY Repairs: Problems caused by customer or non-professional repairs
  • Modifications: Unauthorized modifications or alterations

Location Changes

  • Appliance Moved: Appliances moved to a different address after service
  • Reinstallation Issues: Problems from improper reinstallation after moving
  • Transportation Damage: Damage during moving or transport

Maintenance & Care

  • Lack of Maintenance: Problems from failure to perform routine maintenance
  • Filter Changes: Issues from not changing filters as recommended
  • Cleaning: Problems from lack of regular cleaning (coils, vents, filters)
